3. Interdisciplinary research collaboration among those with an interest in oral health inequalities in research institutions, schools and other centers
4. Foster an environment where mentoring junior faculty and students at all levels of training in terms of career development and research focus is prioritized
5. Developing global collaborations and centers of research through IADRs support.
6. Achieving GOHIRN’s goals including:
   • Encouraging programs of excellence in global oral health sciences and international health within universities and other appropriate institutions, not confined to dental schools.
   • Encouraging capacity-building initiatives in global oral health research.
   • Pursuit of an implementation agenda, and a solution based approach.

The logo depicts a tooth formed by two “teardrop” shapes that resemble the icons that mark locations of interest in the world map. The two sizes of the shape represent the inequalities of global oral health conditions. The heart shape that forms the crown of the tooth signifies the group of caring members that come together to lead and support the cause.

Purple symbolizes nobility and devotion of the members while blue is related to health and hygiene.
